'La Playa que Apaña'

As the teacher said, Chile has hundreds of great beaches and I’ve been to several of them, but my favourite is Maitencillo, which is located at Valparaíso’s region.

I used to always go with my family when I was a little girl so I have one of my best memories on this place. Later, there were some years that we went to other beaches, but since three years we went back to Maitencillo and I remembered all the good moments that I’d been through.

It’s the best place for me, there are the best ice-creams, the best meat pies, and the best cupcakes, actually when we go we eat a lot all day all days. I like this beach because is so quiet and every group of people has its own space at the moment of sunbathing; special to relax.

This beach is perfect for surfing, but I don’t know how to, so I just play ‘paletas’ with my brother and my dad, go to the craft fairs with my mom or sometimes I just lay on the beach sunbathing, although this has consequences…

However, I love go to Maitencillo, the last time I visited it was on February of this year and the best was the last day. My family and I were to a restaurant to celebrate the Love day, but who cares! Because when we were eating, suddenly appears Blanca Lewin, a Chilean actress (I love her), and in the middle of my ecstasy, comes Benjamín Vicuña to her table… I just couldn’t believe that, two great actors in one place, in one moment!!!

Here's a picture of us :)

I was so excited looking Benjamin that I lost in his eyes and I forgot to take a picture.

Well, I totally recomend visiting Maitencillo, you will not regret!

Chocolate taster

Few years ago, when people started to ask me ‘how would you earn a living in the future?’  The first thing I though was on chocolate. I have loved chocolate since ever, so I imagine there must be people in charge of taste the chocolate to approve it sale. From that moment I started to look on the internet about this job and if it was possible work on that. I really wanted to work on that, just imagine eat all the chocolate you want and get paid for that!

Well, after discovering the nonexistence of that job, and the only thing related whit that was a wine taster and I didn’t want to spend all my life drunk, I decided look for other works.

For my mind went so many works… like make dubbing at the movies (I used to practice like a stupid in my home the character voices every day), later I was obsessed with criminal minds, a TV show and wanted to be like the forensic investigators that appeared on that. When I realized that seeing blood makes me sick, I dismissed the idea. I wanted to be like Meryl Streep for a while too and be an incredible actress.

I play a lot of musical instruments, so after those stupid ideas for working at the future, I though on having a band with my cousins and travel around the world… and well, we still can do it.

Well, in my life I have only worked on one thing: making pizzas… I lasted one month haha, and it wasn’t for the distance between the work and my hose (I took just a minute to arrive), I think I’m not a big fan of cooking, but I like eating, especially chocolate :D

Ireland

When I was in 7th grade, in the subject of History we were studying some countries which were involved in the Second World War and although it role wasn’t so big like the other nations, I had to talk about Ireland.

So my classmate and I (the work was on pairs) started to investigate Ireland, besides it influence on war, how are the laws, the president, how Irish live, their beliefs and more things that slowly started to catch my attention.

And when I saw the pictures of this country, I immediately fell in love whit all the green that appeared and the beauty of the place. I was fascinated, so I started to look on all the credence that have Irish people, and the things I founded made me want to go in that moment to Ireland.

Halloween and San Patrick’s day, for example, are the most famous national festivals which lasts almost three days and gathers thousand people. The Leprechauns (trolls) are also part of this and the country’s mythology. The legend says that if you catch one of them, you’ll get luck.

Beside this, Celtic heritage influences music and food. Those things are very important for Irish too, just what I mostly like in life.

So that's why my ambition is traveling Ireland and when I do it, I'll be so happy...

Tom & Jerry

When I was 10 years old I used to watch Tom & Jerry every afternoon after school, it was a vice for me. This TV show, created, written and guided by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, it’s about (nowadays the program keeps on TV) the relation of a cat (Tom) and a mouse (Jerry) that live at the same house. In a normal day, Tom always try to catch Jerry and he makes traps to get him, but Jerry is suspicious and is always watchful of what Tom is doing. So basically, that’s the plot, Tom tries to catch Jerry, and the mouse contrives to get away of all Tom’s traps.

In some episodes, the owner of these animals appears on TV but, curiously, just from her neck till her shoes, never her face. In those cases, Tom and Jerry make a team and try to get away from her.

Well, now that I’m writing of this, it sounds a little bit boring, but when you start to watch it, you just can’t stop. Actually, I would still watching it, if the quality of the picture was the same when I was 10 years (I hate how is it now). But out of that, is a very funny program, and the creators won 7 oscars for their short films.

Epic photo from an epic day

This is the best photo i’ve ever took. That man was my workshop assistant of the last year, and no, he’s not drinking water.

After a complicated year, and after having so much bad and good moments with this group, on December we were all of us like brothers and sisters, including the assistants and the master. We create a very strong friendship, so when Christmas approached, we decided celebrate it together in FAU, like a real family playing secret Santa,  but the day we chose was a ‘day correction’, where we had to correct our projects… our final projects.

So we started to organize the beer day (everybody knew that ‘celebrate’ implied alcohol) and to our surprise, the teaching staff was the most motivated. That day they came with lots of Doritos, Ramitas and Papas Fritas, and some drinks and my classmates and I couldn’t enter to the classroom because the teachers were preparing all the things. When we got into the room, one of the teachers was disguised of Santa Claus and all the presents were below a paper tree.

So we started to give each other the presents, saying at the same time things that we liked of the workshop group. It was very emotional, but it did not last so long, because suddenly appeared a big Ron bottle, some wine and, obviously, the drink of the photo: tequila.

After that, everything went haywire. The teachers started to dance while they were drinking, and everyone else applauded and scream very shout, like poor monkeys.

Although I was going wrong on the workshop, it was the best day of the year.

3D printer

I'm not a big fan of technology because people don't know how to use it or use it wrong. The development of it has increased so much and we are not prepared to receive all of that.

For example, every time, the families are more separated and I have seen most of them in distressing situations, like when they are eating in a restaurant and nobody talks to each other because they are attached to the cells or tablets.

But nevertheless, technology has positive things, of course, and one of them is the 3D printer. Although I don’t have one, this is my favourite piece of technology, because of the importance that can reach. 3D printing has diverse uses, like creating different models of houses, buildings, designs and whatever, you can materialize all you can imagine, even human organs.

Yes, this is the most important achievement till now, which has been a revolution in the medicine area. One of this print is called BioBot and its operations astonishes us.

A subject I enjoy studying

I used to have history classes when I was at school and I loved it, because the way of teaching of the master was so amazing. For example, when we read about the arrival of the Spaniards to America, he acted every single thing, I mean, when they met with indians, the reaction of them and stuff like that.

But now, although I’m not with that teacher, I keep thinking that history is a great subject, because you can understand so many things trough it and is so helpful for us because from the things that have happened, we can studying them and start and invastigation looking for ‘the why’ of things. And when that happens, the person can avoid the problems that came about, which is the most important thing I’ve learned so far.

So those are the reasons why I enjoy studying this subject, although that doesn’t include that I get good marks haha…
