A building I like

Today I'm going to talk about a building I like. Sincerely, I've never travelled out of Chile, so my knowledge is very limited. That's why I'm going to talk about the UC's Innovation Center, a recent architectural work by Alejandro Aravena that is in Santiago, Chile.

This building is located in a big wooded university campus and most of the buildings that are in there, are subtle and in harmony with the environment. But then it appears this one that breaks completely with the scheme, and that's why I like it. This building is the opposite of all the campus, is a giant rough building that contrasts and at the same time gets connection with the rest of the buildings, and even the subway.

Two years ago, when I first saw it, I was, like other people, very shocked, and no one could remain indifferent. Most of the persons I answered about it, told me that they didn’t like it because it was totally out of context. Clearly, they didn’t see what I saw.
